Empty Deletes everything in the folder, including any subfolders.Delete will move the folder to the Deleted Items folder. You can't rename the default folders, such as the Inbox folder. Once you read it, it dropped out of that folder but wasn't deleted, and didn't need you to 'move message to folder'. Professional association emails go into their own folder, I think in total I have about 20 folders for different things that rules separate into their homes. For example stores sending me stuff I don't want auto deleted, go into a single folder, meanwhile things like patreon or kickstarter notifications go into a separate folders. Personally I have rules set up that filter a lot of my mails into separate folders for what type of messages. This ignores what a lot of people used a Search Folder 'unread' for as a means of handling emails.
